Our Commitment to Your Privacy

G.T. Industrial Sales respects your privacy, and is bound by the Privacy Act and the National Privacy Principles when handling your personal details.

This policy outlines the procedures for collection, use, security and access of the personal information we collect.

1. Collection

When dealing with us collection of information is generally limited to your name, address (both mail & location), fixed and mobile telephone number, fax number and email address.

We limit the collection of personal information, to that which is necessary for us to provide you with the goods and services you have requested.

The exception to this would be in the case of personal detail collected for the purpose of applying for a 30 day trading account with our business. The above would be expanded to include other details such as Trade References and Name and Branch of Bank.

2. Use and Disclosure.

We use the personal information collected to provide you with goods and services and for promotion of products and services that may be beneficial to you or your business.

If you do not wish to receive promotional material please advise us and your contact details will be removed from our marketing database.

We do not disclose your personal information to other organisations or third parties unless you have specifically requested this, or is required by law.

In the case of a credit application it is acknowledged that by providing Trade References you are authorising us to seek detail from those credit providers relating to your credit history or credit worthiness, as detailed on our "Application for Credit" document.

3. Data Quality

At G.T. Industrial we acknowledge that it is important to maintain your personal information to ensure it is accurate and up to date. We will take reasonable action to ensure this is the case but we also rely on you advising us when changes in your details may occur.

We will also take reasonable steps to destroy or delete data, which is no longer required.

4. Data Security

All staff are required to comply with this privacy policy and steps have been taken to limit access to your personal details in an attempt to ensure unauthorised access or modification does not occur. Your details are only modified by authorised senior staff, in response to your written request.

5. Access and Correction

You are welcome to access your personal information at any time during the hours of 9.00 am to 5.00 pm on a normal business day Monday to Friday. You may do this either in person, in writing or by phone. Your request should be made to the Administration Manager or General Manager and you will be asked to provide sufficient information to positively identify you.

Details can be sent to you by post, fax or e-mail.

If you find any details we hold about you are not correct you may ask for them to be rectified and this will generally be attended to immediately.
